Journey

  1. The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe

    “‘Safe?’ said Mr. Beaver…’Who said anything about safe? ‘Course he isn’t safe. But he’s good. He’s the King, I tell you.’”  (C.S. Lewis)

  3. Keep Looking Up

    Psalm 121

     1 I lift up my eyes to the mountains—
       where does my help come from?
    2 My help comes from the LORD,
       the Maker of heaven and earth.

     3 He will not let your foot slip—
       he who watches over you will not slumber;
    4 indeed, he who watches over Israel
       will neither slumber nor sleep.

     5 The LORD watches over you—
       the LORD is your shade at your right hand;
    6 the sun will not harm you by day,
       nor the moon by night.

     7 The LORD will keep you from all harm—
       he will watch over your life;
    8 the LORD will watch over your coming and going
       both now and forevermore.

  5. What if…

    Turn your eyes upon Jesus

    Look full in His wonderful face

    And the things of the earth will grow strangely dim

    in the light of His glory and grace….

    ..suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope..

  7. Giving Thanks with a Grateful Heart

    Thank you LORD!  Great is your faithfulness!

    “But now, this is what the LORD says—
       he who created you, Jacob,
       he who formed you, Israel:
    “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you;
       I have summoned you by name; you are mine.
    When you pass through the waters,
       I will be with you;
    and when you pass through the rivers,
       they will not sweep over you.
    When you walk through the fire,
       you will not be burned;
       the flames will not set you ablaze.
    For I am the LORD your God,
       the Holy One of Israel, your Savior; “  (Isaiah 43:1-3a)

  11. HEART PAIN

    Life has suddenly taken such a sharp turn for a family dear to me that it feels like a quick punch to the heart.

    praying for peace. praying for mercy. praying for healing . Praying for Christ’s peace that surpass all understanding. Praying for His perfect love that drives out fear. Praying for His light that disperse darkness. Lord, please cradle them in your hand, wrap them in your love, hide them under your wings, shield them from harm, and be the solid Rock they can stand on, be their anchor when the waves sweep all around. Let them know you are there when they walk through the water and the fire; You are there when they pass through this valley of darkness; and bring them to the light at the end of the tunnel.

  13. I have to finally come to terms with the hard fact that none of my kiddos are going to play the cello for me afterall :)  but I am so glad that they each found the instrument that they love.  B was beaming when he walked out of the CVMS band room today - one positive thing to offset some of that “scariness” of middle school. Now he calls himself “Oboe Hobo” and I am the “Yo Mama” !!  Wish I can capture this 10-yr-old cuteness forever.

  17. Spring!!

    the most exciting part of the year for a gardener!!

    love plants and flowers and trees and all things green!!

    got 23 baby plants (flowers, herbs, tomoatoes). too many? nah. ladies spend their $ on shoes, bags, clothes, skin-care/makeup, home deco, crafts  OR most Asian ladies are really thrifty and don’t spend at all on themselves… SIGN

     i just like to spend on green things that grow- hopefully :) a lot of my $ has gone down the drain this way each spring as my plants either die in the heat of the Austin sun or got frozen to death in the winter. but each year i am back again and never give up. the temptation to start again is too great! :)

    a lady in church gave me a peach tree and a loquat tree a yr+ ago. How generous she was!  and what gifts can be more lovely than a plant? they are still in pots and i need to find a good spot in the yard for them.

    planting something gives one hope - something to look forward to and dream of -  beautiful flowers and maybe fruits some day. even the green of a young leaf is so beautiful…

    how can God make so many amazing things and never run out of ideas.  He is a genius X a zillion times - way beyond my imagination!

  19. God will make a way

    When there seems to be no way

    He works in ways we cannot see

    He will make a way for me

    He will be my guide

    Hold me closely to His side

    With love and strength

    For each new day

    He will make a way

    He will make a way

    By a roadway in the wilderness

    He’ll lead me

    And rivers in the desert will I see

    Heaven and earth will fade

    But His Word will still remain

    He will do something new today
